a social turn?

Given the process of consolidating the democratization of our society, it is necessary for knowledge to seek to meet local, regional, and national collective needs, in addition to global issues. It presupposes an interaction between knowledge and society, both in meeting social demands and in transferring knowledge to society. In other words, to the extent that scientific and technological production must reflect social demands and have a greater social impact, I intend, in this article, to present an analysis of the main challenges to be faced based on two recently approved government documents: the new National Postgraduate Plan (PNPG 2025-2029) and the book Violeta, the latter prepared based on recommendations from the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology, and Innovation (CNCTI).
